Very nice subject matter. I have never seen these before. Where would one typically find these?

@Robert D. Burr: Robert, these are not fungi but a species of slime mold. For me it is too difficult to explain in english so I reffer to the wikipedia page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slime_mold. This species was found on decaying wood. The fruiting bodies are just about 2 mm in hight... you will need a good magnifying glass to find them...
