Brenthis ino (NL: Purperstreepparelmoervlinder / EN: Lesser Marbled Fritillary / DE: Mädesüß-Perlmutterfalter, Violetter Silberfalter / FR: Nacré de la sanguisorbe, Grande violette) is a butterfly of the Nymphalidae family. B. ino occurs in the mid-latitudes of Europe and Asia. The species avoids hot climates as well as extremely cold and flies on wet meadows, fens, tall herb communities and along the banks of streams and rivers. Basically, all Fritillaries are more or less similar in appearance. A closer look at the drawings, especially on the rear wing bottom, is needed to make a porper determination. The wingspan of this species is 34-42 mm.
