Lathyrus vernus (NL: Voorjaarslathyrus / EN: Spring pea / DE: Frühlings-Platterbse) is a typical plant of the Central European deciduous forests. The inflorescences are clusters of three to eight (rarely 10) flowers, shorter or longer than its carrying sheet. The crown is 13 to 20 mm long, red-violet colored and is wilting blue to blue-green. Flowering time is April to May.
