Crete 2010 #24 Stone

Posted by
Johan Dierckx (Wijnegem, Belgium) on 7 February 2011 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.

In April 2010 I made a photo-trip to Crete. The main goal was surching and documenting the wild orchids and endimic flora of the Island. I already posted some of the species back in april (all images posted between 23/04/2010 and 15/05/2010).
In this series I will be posting mainly cityscapes and landscapes taken on the island during that trip.
For me it is a good occasion to review my images and select only the best and most representative ones from this trip.

Albert Manso from barcelona, Spain

Beautiful image! Nice capture!

@Albert Manso: Thank you very much for your visit and comment, Albert

Veronique from Sarrouilles, France

color and composition perfect !

7 Feb 2011 10:00pm

@Veronique: The color is the reflection of white cliffs lit by the orange glow of the sunset. I had to take several shots to get the timing of the waves right. Thanks for commenting, Veronique.

Garfield from Ancaster Ontario, Canada

I really enjoyed reading your about page - thanks for sharing :)

@Garfield: Thanks for this nice comment, Garfield. Glad you read my about page too. I don't think many people made that effort :-)

Marleen from Doesburg, Netherlands

Een 'gouden' strand- prachtige foto!

8 Feb 2011 8:42am

Julie Brown from Indianapolis, United States

Beautiful golden sidelight.

9 Feb 2011 2:52am

@Julie Brown: Just the right time in the right spot - a few moments later the light was gone ...

Christine from Duns, United Kingdom

I like your focus on this shot, and the wonderful golden light

9 Feb 2011 8:30am

@Christine: I had to make different shots to get the composition of the waves right. The central element always was the stone. The light changed constantly and a few moments later, it dissappeared ... Have a nice day, Christine. Greetz !

Loner from Wörgl, Austria

Ein großartiges Foto ! Wunderbare Farben und klare Komposition !

@Loner: I'm very glad you like these kind of images too, Sonja. lMaking mostly macro's, landscapes etc are defenitely not my strongest kind of photography - still have to learn much about that. I realy should pay more attention in making this kind of images during a holiday.
