This is the version in Black & White of an earlier posted image (10 jan 2010).
Which one do you like most? The color version of the B&W-version ? Why ?

anne from zwolle, Netherlands

eerlijk gezegd vind ik de kleurenfoto boeiender.....

14 Jan 2011 9:54am

Veronique from Sarrouilles, France

Marilla from Turku, Finland

The colour version is better because it shines in the light!

14 Jan 2011 8:36pm

@Marilla: I think the black and white version is ok if you don't know the colored version.... For me the contrast between the warm colors of the late aftenoon sunlight and the coldness of the subject are more attracting in the colored version. So I fully agree with you on this one. For me it was very instructive to compare both.

JCJ from Troyes, France

belle dentelle!

@JCJ: Thank you very much, JCJ.

Julie Brown from Indianapolis, United States

I definitely like the color version better. The warm backlight is very pleasing.

@Julie Brown: I agree, Julie. Comparing both versions was very instructive for me. Exploring the possibilities of Black and White was new to me. I just wanted to know what works and what does not in B & W. Maybe I'll do some more B&W in the future, but then I'll go out and take the images with B&W in my mind when I make the image. Greetz !
