Syrphidae specimen

Posted by
Johan Dierckx (Wijnegem, Belgium) on 1 July 2010 in Animal & Insect and Portfolio.

This specimen of the Syrphidae family just came by to say hello ... I could not make any more pictures to get a closer determination on the species. There is some life in my sons apple tree in the garden :-).

Cruz from exurbia, United States

I don’t know what it is but it’s pretty...your capture is so clear and sharp...makes the bug look a bit scary!

@Cruz: Thank you for your visit and your comment, Cruz.

GJC from Kyoto (京都), Japan

This is delightful. The colors are also very nice.

@GJC: Thanks, GJC. I like the colors too.

Julie Brown from Indianapolis, United States

Interesting head structure on this insect. Your background is a nice color, but I see some noise.

1 Jul 2010 11:54am

@Julie Brown: The noice is due to the iso-setting. There was not enough light to drop the iso. Maybe I should have a look into proper denoising :-)

chen del mundo from manila, Philippines

great focus, = )

♏arleen from Doesburg, Netherlands

Dutçh from Chicagoland, United States

I think the bug is eying you as much as you are looking at it. Like "Whut up" =)

@Dutçh: I'm not sure he saw me ... I was hiding behind the camera :p

daniela scharnowski from Berlin, Germany

@daniela scharnowski: no comment on the focus from Daniela ? Hm. Could have done better i guess ... But i liked the pose and the white collar ...

daniela scharnowski from Berlin, Germany

Have a super weekend Johna, We´re off to the garden now, some macros after the fancy superstar shooting will do good ;D
