Anax imperator - detail #4

Posted by Johan Dierckx (Wijnegem, Belgium) on 3 June 2010 in Animal & Insect and Portfolio.

I'm taking a break in the Orchid-series :-)

Last friday I had the opportunity making some images of a young female Anax imperator (Emperor Dragonfly / Grote keizerlibel). Rather then showing the whole dragonfly, I choose to display some details. They turned out to be almost abstract images.

Talk about twiggy! More excellent detail

Been realy busy this week (working and making pictures) and a busy weekend coming on. Hope to spend more time on the site next week :-)

I enjoy this series a lot Johan! the beauty of the details, nearly the same feeling here as watching a chuch window.

@daniela scharnowski: I enjoyed making the series :-))) It was realy challenging but i'm proud on the result. The church-window-feeling i had more with the wing-detail.
