Johan Dierckx (Wijnegem, Belgium) on 18 April 2010 in Animal & Insect and Portfolio.

Dear friends, blog-followers or ocasional visitors,
I left for a phototrip to Crete. So I'm posting some images from last year (about the same period) for a little while. (No mosses anymore ...)
I'm not giving any further explanation on these images, but the title is the scientific name of the species so for those who are interested - see Google :-)

Please DO comment these images, but I apologize for the delayed answers I hope to catch up again about 18 april. Meanwhile I hope you can enjoy this "older" work!

I see this bug trying to be zen with the grass, blending in. The focus is pretty good, it only blurs toward the back end of the bug and really that emphasizes the length of the bug.

@Self-Indulgence: To be zen ? No way - Playing hide and seek with me !!!! Every time i had my camera in the right position, this one turned to the back of the grass so i could start all over ... But i don't give up easily ... (I won :-p )

Ralph from Overijssel, Netherlands

Mooi zeg!

@Ralph: Dank je, Ralph. Voor mij is de scherpte niet echt ideaal op het origineel, maar als ik hem hier zie, valt het nog behoorlijk mee.

Zen is a Chinese Buddhist philosophy somewhat like being one with the world around you, at peace and such. I am probably simplifying it a lot but I was meaning that the bug was trying to be one with the plant, to blend in. Of course his reason would be not to be seen ;)
