Johan Dierckx (Wijnegem, Belgium) on 10 April 2010 in Animal & Insect and Portfolio.

Dear friends, blog-followers or ocasional visitors,
I left for a phototrip to Crete. So I'm posting some images from last year (about the same period) for a little while. (No mosses anymore ...)
I'm not giving any further explanation on these images, but the title is the scientific name of the species so for those who are interested - see Google :-)

Please DO comment these images, but I apologize for the delayed answers I hope to catch up again about 18 april. Meanwhile I hope you can enjoy this "older" work!

This is amazing Johan. The detail is pinpoint perfect throughout. So much we miss with the naked eye.

@Self-Indulgence: I took the picture during early morning, before the sun came. Butterflys do need the sun to warm up before they can fly. I think this one was still asleep :-)) I had plenty of time to get the image right. And indeed - I keep wondering about the details every time ... Nature is so wonderfull !

I'll have to remember to go to the butterfly garden in the morning then when it is still cool so they will pose for me. Thanks for the tip!

@Self-Indulgence: There is no butterfly-garden nearby here :-( But i like more to "hunt" for them in free nature - a little more difficult but more satisfying to me ... :-) You're welcome.
