Pulsatilla vulgaris

Posted by
Johan Dierckx (Wijnegem, Belgium) on 4 April 2010 in Plant & Nature and Portfolio.

Dear friends, blog-followers or ocasional visitors,
I left for a phototrip to Crete. So I'm posting some images from last year (about the same period) for a little while. (No mosses anymore ...)
I'm not giving any further explanation on these images, but the title is the scientific name of the species so for those who are interested - see Google :-)

Please DO comment these images, but I apologize for the delayed answers I hope to catch up again about 18 april. Meanwhile I hope you can enjoy this "older" work!

Self-Indulgence from Chicagoland, United States

The 'fur' on this makes me want to touch it. I imagine it's very soft.. it's also pretty to the eye.

23 Apr 2010 11:29pm

@Self-Indulgence: It is really soft ! It is one of the most beautifull flowers in Belgium, but also one of the most threatened... There are only 3 or 4 populations left here. (It is a mountain-flower and as you might know - mountains are in Belgium really flat :-))) )

Daiyen from Penang, Malaysia

Excellent capture. Details of the macro, colour combination simply wonderful. Just can't take my eyes off it.

@Daiyen: Thank you for visiting a post from a while ago. Glad you like it this much.

Sarito from Basingstoke, United Kingdom

Lovely texture and lighting here..

@Sarito: These are very beautiful flowers, bet very rare in Belgium. It is more an alpine specimen and as you know, mountains in Belgium are not that high :-)
