Sleeping beauty

Posted by
Johan Dierckx (Wijnegem, Belgium) on 6 February 2010 in Animal & Insect and Portfolio.

Every winter these Branta canadensis (Canadien goose) come from Northern Europe to Belgium and spend some time here.
Life can be wonderfull, sleeping in the wintersun, waiting for a new spring to come.

KriKridesign from Cully, Switzerland

gold bird, gold image...

6 Feb 2010 10:44am

@KriKridesign: The golden color comes from old, dryed reed at the border off the pool, reflecting in the late afternoon sun. Thanks for your comment again.

Ghassan from Baghdad, Iraq

What a beautiful color ! and reflection.

6 Feb 2010 10:57am

@Ghassan: Thanks too for visiting. I was really lucky with the reflection - half an hour before there was a lot more wind - so more waves - so less reflection. This time was really perfect.

El pare from Prepirineu, Spain

Mattan from Singapore, Singapore

awesome colour, perfect reflection. you've caught a beautiful moment here 5* from me :) Thanks for dropping by my blog and following it :P I'm quite new to the realm of macro photography (shooting for about less than a year) You do quite a bit of macro too, any tips? :D

7 Feb 2010 6:33am

@Mattan: Thank you very much. My best tips for a good macro ... First take a good look at different angles ... be patient ...use a stable tripod ...and only shoot with suitable light. For animals: try to get the eye sharp - not that simple :-)

Frederike from Rostock, Germany
